Scentsy is seeking an E-COM Performance Dev, who has the need for speed & scalability. This role is responsible for ensuring Scentsy’s online systems can successfully scale and support a large volume of concurrent traffic and significant data demand requirements of the enterprise from a software perspective, while supporting substantial code churn from a large development team.

  • Resolve performance related problems through system tuning, changing operating system or device parameters, or refactoring the application software / algorithms to resolve poor performance due to poor design or bad coding practices
  • Design and develop performance monitoring plans/tools both for test environments and production environments
  • Follow the performance program processes and collaborate with multiple teams to triage root causes of system performance problems.
  • Facilitate performance testing for new features
  • Responsible for establishing baseline and ongoing key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to lead and lag metrics for non-functional performance health, and performs trend analysis on historical data
  • Ensure adherence to service levels prior to deployment
  • Identify performance-oriented best practices for the Software Development team
  • Collaborate with SDET team in the development of load testing frameworks and scripting of simulated scenarios
  • Identify, reduce, and eliminate future bottlenecks through simulation and testing
  • Eliminate late system deployments, rework, and reduce software maintenance costs due to performance issues and ad hoc fixes


  • 2+ years of Software Engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, or technical field, or equivalent experience



  • Responsible for hitting key metrics that include system: scalability, extensibility, maintainability, testability, and stability
  • Adhere to all established procedures, policies, and safety rules as outlined by the Company
  • Expected to work 40 hours per week; some overtime may be required


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Understanding of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, web architecture, algorithms, data structures, design patterns
  • Experience in creating and executing large scale enterprise designs which demonstrate the ability to scale to support large numbers of concurrent users as well as large data volumes
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time-management skills
  • Excellent understanding of commonly used programming languages, OOP, design patterns, data structures
  • Expert knowledge of .NET framework 3.5/4.0, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, SQL Server, HTML/CSS, XML, JSON, jQuery
  • Experience in writing stored procedures and queries in SQL Server
  • Experience in 3-tiered applications and/or SOA design and development is highly desired
  • Familiar in development and test automation experience working with a variety of programming languages, test frameworks and tools (Selenium, MSTest/NUnit, Microsoft SQL Server, C#, .NET framework, JavaScript)
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and best practices for qualification strategies
  • Ability to multi-task, stay focused, and stay organized in a dynamic work environment with minimal direction
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with little direction
