    Do you have an eye for design with a good deal of technical savvy? Do you geek out when discussing web site design, user interface, mobile frameworks and the like?

     

    Scentsy is looking for a WEB DESIGNER to translate ideas into a visual look and feel that communicates our brand in a way that is functional for end users. This person will design, develop and maintain overall creative direction for Scentsy websites and emails, including web site design, user interfaces(UI), mobile frameworks, navigation solutions, and brand elements within all web and email environments.

     

    Our ideal candidate has strong visual graphic design and interactive design skills with a solid understanding of web design principles. We need someone with mad skills, a great sense of humor, and the ability to dive in to the creative process alongside our existing team members and work together to make the magic happen.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and maintain overall creative direction for Scentsy websites and emails
    • Design web sites, user interfaces(UI), mobile frameworks, navigation solutions, and brand elements within all web and email environments.
    • Translate ideas into a visual look and feel to communicate the brand while considering and applying technical and user needs into final user interface designs.
    • Develop and create designs layouts for new sections and features on Scentsy web presences.
    • Design social media assets and implementations.
    • Understand and support the online brand across all web aspects and presences.
    • Understand the complexities of Responsive and Adaptive web design as well as any developing technologies and trends in the growing web and mobile environments.
    • Work with User Experience (UX) and UI to define web solutions and work with front-end and back-end developers to translate designs into working solutions.
    • Adjust designs according to feedback received from web metrics and Search Engine Optimization(SEO).
    • Perform regular maintenance of graphics and content for web sites, product pages, social media programs and blogs.
    • Participate in web strategy discussions to determine user needs and goals.
    • Work cross functionally with users and project teams to determine requirements for web pages and related applications.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Information Design, Computer Graphics or related field.
    • 5+ years web design and programming; Strong background in responsive, mobile web design.
    • Experience with web database solutions a plus.
    • Online portfolio (required) displaying user-centered and e-commerce design.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Strong visual graphic design and interactive design skills with a solid understanding of web design principles
    • Superior knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques, a strong online portfolio displaying user-centered and e-commerce design.
    • Knowledge of Responsive Web Design (RWD) and Adaptive Web Design (AWD).
    • Knowledge of business and user requirements, as well as technical considerations, to identify key factors to be considered for web projects.
    • Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Suite, HTML (emails, landing pages, etc.), Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) and web wireframing environments.
    • Knowledge and experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.).
    • Experience implementing social media elements and campaigns.
    • Familiarization with Content Management Systems and content update schedules.
    • Knowledge of implementing tracking codes into HTML elements and emails/newsletters.
