  • Overview

    Scentsy is looking for a Sales and Use Tax Clerk to join our Finance team! This person will be primarily responsible for preparing and filing indirect tax returns, aiding in maintaining financial transactions and records, and preparing reports and summaries along with a variety of other clerical functions.


    What You Will Do:

    • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns and ensure accuracy
    • Assist with global indirect tax return preparation
    • Maintain documentation of customer exemptions
    • Answer general sales and use tax questions via phone, email, and in person
    • Work with external contacts to resolve time-sensitive issues
    • Organize and maintain filing of invoices and statements
    • Document and assist in tax rebate processes
    • Prepare and file annual business licenses
    • Assist with processing forms and applications
    • Assist with audits
    • Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed


    You Should Have:

    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Time management skills – organizing and prioritizing
    • Appropriate communication and customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with internal and external stakeholders
    • Ability to adapt communication style to effectively educate, influence, or negotiate
    • Initiative and be proactive
    • Proficient problem-solving skills
    • Clear and direct written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to read/comprehend, write, perform basic mathematics calculations, and reason and analyze
    • Ability to think outside the box
    • Previous clerical and customer service experience
    • Previous experience with SAP or similar accounting system
    • Previous accounting experience; tax compliance experience is a plus
    • Must have working knowledge of computers and all applicable software including Microsoft Office Suite
    • High school diploma or equivalent; some college and/or technical training preferred
