    Join our award-winning creative team as a Copywriter. Primary responsibilities include writing and editing in a fast-paced environment to help provide the best marketing and sales tools to support our growing family of Consultants. Also, laughing a lot.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Write, proofread, and edit copy for monthly promotions and flyers, customer e-newsletters, and other promotions as needed (Are you one of those people who proofs billboards and restaurant menus without thinking about it? We do, too.)
    • Write copy for Consultant communications, brand websites, microsites, product catalogs, packaging materials, videos, and promotional documents
    • Work with web designers, print designers, program, region, and sales managers, and many other folks as needed to deliver content across a variety of programs and projects
    • Develop market- and culture-specific knowledge to be used in copy development and the successful execution of promotion and marketing campaigns
    • Learn and understand the changing needs of Consultants to develop the best, most comprehensive sales and development tools
    • Work with Events and Consultant Development teams to craft copy for print and online programs, promotional emails, agendas, handouts, and presentation materials for training and recruiting events
    • Work closely with the Translation team to ensure brand messaging and ethos is appropriately communicated across cultural boundaries and languages
    • Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 5-7 years of experience in writing, editing, or related field
    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, creative writing, journalism, related discipline or equivalent experience
    • Fragrance, home décor, or food writing experience preferred
    • Experience working in a collaborative, high-energy environment
    • Experience working with designers or in an agency
    • Web knowledge/social media experience a plus
    • Portfolio of writing samples and writing evaluation required

     

    Expectations:

    • Works under minimal supervision
    • Consistently provides quality, prompt, and accurate work
    • Uses time effectively and provides quality work with minimal errors or editing
    • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Consultant communications, web content creation, customer promotions, etc., by directing copywriting activities of other team members
    • Expected to work 40 hours per week; some overtime may be required
    • Adhere to all established procedures, policies, and safety rules as outlined by the company

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of direct-selling industry a plus
    • Strong, proven promotional and marketing writing skills
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Ability to manage large projects or programs with no assistance, or oversees and assists other project/program leaders
    • Superior ability to assess needs within the company and prioritize work accordingly
    • Ability to solve highly complex problems and make critical decisions
    • Exceptional writing and editing with the ability to provide constructive feedback to less experienced copywriters
    • Acts as a mentor to less experienced copywriters
    • Strong understanding of Scentsy products, history, culture, leadership, and objectives
    • Ability to bake and a willingness to share said goods with team (store-bought goods also acceptable)
    • Acquire working knowledge of computers and all applicable software including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe InCopy
    • Ability to work at a computer station and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
    • Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking up to 10% of the time
    • Ability to frequently sit, handle objects, read/comprehend, write, communicate orally, and reason and analyze

    Certifications:

    • Graduate level, creative writing, or technical writing certifications preferred
