We are looking to hire a Shipping Supervisor to work at our newly-remodeled, and climate-controlled warehouse in Coppell, Texas! This person will be responsible for overseeing all Shipping Operations including picking, packing, and special projects, as well as provide guidance and leadership to the Shipping staff.


This is an excellent entry-level supervisory position, with a minimum salary of $50k per year and the possibility of starting higher depending on experience. This is a full-time, swing shift opportunity with a flexible rotation requirement.


(Hours are 3:00pm-12:30pm)

  • Oversee shipping floor workflow to ensure optimum service levels are met or exceeded
  • Resolve shipping related issues ensuring orders are picked, packed, and shipped properly
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments and shifts to stay updated on all matters that will affect Shipping department
  • Monitor shipping trucks to ensure they are fully loaded on time and communicate with shipping vendor regarding pickup information
  • Monitor shipping practices to ensure highest possible efficiencies to avoid unnecessary shipping costs are incurred
  • Monitor recycling waste equipment levels and communicate recycling needs to other co-leaders and vendors as needed
  • Act as a resource to other departments by providing strong customer service
  • Understand, perform, and train all pertinent functions of all jobs within the Shipping department
  • Review department data, compile department metrics, and review workers’ activities to set standard requirements and report to management
  • Work with leadership to ensure execution of operational directives, including planning and strategy, to optimize efficiency for all involved
  • Handle personnel issues for both temporary employees and fulltime regular employees and effectively and accurately document incidents relating or contributing to personnel issues
  • Manage staff by selecting, orientating, training, coaching, counseling, monitoring attendance, and developing personal growth opportunities for employees
  • Responsible for supervising employees which includes; hires, terminations, demotions, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and other employee related functions
  • Create and edit department SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and ensure employees are properly trained according to them
  • Promote and maintain a safe and secure work environment



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent distribution center experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a distribution environment with 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Solid computer skills, with the ability to learn all applicable software
  • Knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Systems, SAP preferred

  • Well-developed interpersonal communications skills (written & verbal) with the ability to effectively and sensitively address employee concerns

  • Good conflict resolution skills with a sense of when to approach a situation head on or when to defer to leadership while maintaining a level-headed approach
  • Strong analytical and research aptitude

  • Demonstrate initiative and make decisions that will impact the quality and timely completion of work
  • Understand both kitting and the shipping processes
  • Work in a stressful and often complex shipping environment
  • Work at a computer station and view a computer screen for extended periods of time as well as work frequently around moving equipment
  • Read and comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, and occasionally reason and analyze
  • Frequently bend, squat, stand, walk, push and pull, reach above shoulder level, have both arms and legs accessible, and perform repetitive manual dexterity
  • Stand/walk for extended periods of time in a fast-paced, loud environment
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively
