Overview

Category Manager

Are you strategic but also have the ability to execute? Scentsy is looking for a strategic-minded Category Manager to manage strategy implementation for a portfolio of our awesome products ensuring the company continues to offer a product line-up that delivers a strong and differentiated value. In addition, the Category Manager works collaboratively to develop comprehensive go-to-market strategies that bolster sales of assigned categories.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the development of strategic product lifecycle plans, product positioning, and category mix
  • Works cross-functionally to develop competitive pricing and promotions for assigned category
  • Works cross-functionally to develop demand forecasts and manage inventory levels through channel and promotional activities
  • Works cross-functionally to communicate and address QA issues and inventory stock-outs of products within the category
  • Conducts ongoing research to ensure future strength of product lines
  • Develops and implements comprehensive program and promotional strategies that maximize sales and category growth
  • Works collaboratively with leadership to build a collective roadmap across categories
  • Makes day-to-day recommendations and decisions regarding category direction and strategy implementation
  • Develops comprehensive documentation that outlines the core fundamentals for products and programs
  • Identifies resource needs, roles, and responsibilities and ensures resource alignment across functional teams
  • Typically manages one or more medium to high impact categories or multiple pieces to high impact categories
  • Develops project schedules
  • Evaluates, documents, and reports project status, issues, and risks
  • Coordinates training, communication, and GTM planning with cross-functional teams
  • Manages change and Identifies and tracks changes to project scope, including the impacts of each change
  • Tracks and reports on project performance
  • Works closely with leadership to evaluate project alignment with strategic vision and assess the overall health of the category’s projects: schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Gains and retains buy-in for changes from key project stakeholders
  • Identifies project performance variances and recommends corrective actions to leadership
  • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets data about Consultant and customer behaviors, trends, competition, and the market
  • Contributes to the development of improved processes and workflow systems
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced staff members
  • Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience managing a variety of categories, programs, or products preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of the Direct Selling industry
